Note venue for this month’s meeting. We will be at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (see location info at the right).
Our monthly meeting for May 21st will be held at the usual time – 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. You may want to come early to grab a coffee a the Loafe Cafe before it closes and to have some chat time. The location is the upstairs cafeteria of Emily Carr University of Art and Design, 520 E. 1st Ave, Vancouver ( where we have our usual coffee meet ups).
Mark Singleton from Motorino, Vancouver’s noted dealer of e-bikes and scooters, will be our first presenter. The carbon footprint of an EV is much smaller than a gas car and the carbon footprint of an E-bike or E-scooter is smaller still. E-bikes and scooters can fill a transportation needs gap. Not everyone needs a car, not everyone has parking for a car, not everyone can access charging and possibly some people can not afford the purchase price of an EV. E-bikes and scooters can fill this gap. It will be interesting to see what insights Mark can give us.
You may think that VEVA stands for Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association but our second speaker for the evening would argue it stands for the Vancouver Electric Vessel Association. Alina Vasilchikova from SV Business group will be enlightening us on the latest applications of electric motors for boats. Alina will have some really interesting information on emissions from motor boats.
