The next new vehicle purchase for nearly 70% of Canadians will be an electric model: KPMG in Canada survey

The number is 77% in British Columbia.

Lots of interesting numbers in the report. It really feels like the time for EVs is now.

Very misleading small study 2000 people who have money.

Well, I'm very glad that it's "very misleading" as it finds that '

    • Over half (53 per cent) worry EVs could "blow up the electrical grid" and could be too expensive to operate given electricity prices.'

It costs me $3.00 for electricity to charge my BEV to drive 100 kilometers based upon using 20 kilowatts of energy at a cost of 15 cents per kilowatt.

In summer i only require 18 kilowatts per 100 kilometers of driving or $2.70.

My neighbour uses 8 litres of gasoline at $1.52 per litre which costs him $12.16 to drive the same 100 kilometers.

My operating costs at ONE QUARTER of his - how is that more expensive.

Used Nissan Leafs only cost about $15,000 Canadian.
